Recognizing the tremendous value of input by women at the ballot box, the U.S. Congress voted in favor of the 19th Amendment to give women the right to vote on June 4, 1919.

Women in Alaska were making a difference before this date, but since then have voted, volunteered on campaigns, run for office, and served our communities and State.

In celebration of this 100th anniversary we are recognizing and honoring women of accomplishment in Alaska.
